Full Time 30 Kids' Time Site Coordinator

The Kids' Time Site Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operation of the Spring Creek Elementary Kids’ Time After School program site. The Site Coordinator ensures delivery of excellent service to all families and Kids’ Time participants.  Maintains excellent working relationships with both adults and children.  Responds to family and participant needs, maintains cleanliness, safety, and organization of the after school program.

  1. Plan and implement the daily program schedule. Assign tasks and responsibilities to the site team as needed.
  2. Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility & Faith.
  3. Prepare student rosters and assign students to groups.
  4. Coordinate the snack & supper program. Distribute snack according to policies and guidelines issued by the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
  5. Maintain weekly and monthly paperwork. Turn all paperwork in within the timeframe requested.
  6. Maintain student discipline in the after school program while following the discipline code in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures.
  7. Work collaboratively with community partners to schedule and integrate activities. Examples will include Crossroads, Focus One, the Red Cross and PTO.
  8. Work collaboratively with YMCA association and leadership.
  9. Assist with and help coordinate parent engagement programs.
  10. Practice good listening skills. Take ownership of any issues that arise and resolve them to the best of your ability, and in a professional manner.
  11. Leads staff to develop a cohesive team.


  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Some college credits preferred
  2. 1 year of related experience and/or training desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Minimum 18 years of age
  4. CPR, AED & First Aid Certifications required upon hire
  5. Ability to teach program activities and lead others
  6. Strong character, integrity and adaptability in all situations
  7. Ability to work with enthusiasm, a sense of humor, patience and self-control
  8. Desire and ability to work with children in a recreational setting
  9. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  10. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.


Up to 35 hours per week to include 25 hours per week as the Site Coordinator at Spring Creek Elementary, and 10 hours per week at another branch location.  Additional branch location and responsibilities will be determined through interview process.


$12.00-$14.00 per hour- commensurate experience & qualifications
